Southern Maple Sweet Potato Casserole

A delicious twist on traditional sweet potato casserole featuring maple syrup and turkey bacon.

Ingredients

  • 4 cups mashed sweet potatoes
  • 1/2 cup maple syrup
  • 1/2 cup turkey bacon, cooked and crumbled
  • 1/4 cup butter, melted
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon cinnamon
  • 1/4 teaspoon nutmeg
  • 1 cup mini marshmallows

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. In a large bowl, combine mashed sweet potatoes, maple syrup, melted butter, vanilla extract, salt, cinnamon, and nutmeg until smooth.
  3. Fold in the crumbled turkey bacon.
  4. Spread the mixture into a greased baking dish.
  5. Sprinkle mini marshmallows on top.
  6. Bake for 25-30 minutes until heated through and marshmallows are golden brown.

Notes

  • You can add chopped pecans for extra crunch.
  • For a vegan version, substitute butter with coconut oil and leave out marshmallows.
