  • 1/2 cup milk
  • 1/4 cup brown sugar
  • 1/4 cup granulated sugar
  • 1/4 cup butter, melted
  • 2 1/4 teaspoons active dry yeast
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
  • 1/2 teaspoon nutmeg
  • 3 1/2 to 4 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 cup powdered sugar
  • 2 tablespoons milk (for icing)
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract

Instructions

  1. In a bowl, combine pumpkin puree, milk, brown sugar, granulated sugar, and melted butter. Stir in yeast and let it sit for 5 minutes.
  2. Add salt, cinnamon, nutmeg, and 3 cups of flour to the bowl. Mix well until a sticky dough forms.
  3. Gradually incorporate the remaining flour, kneading until smooth and elastic.
  4. Place the dough in a greased bowl, cover, and let rise for 1 hour.
  5. Roll out the dough and spread butter, sugar, and cinnamon on top.
  6. Roll the dough tightly and cut into rolls.
  7. Place rolls in a greased baking dish. Cover and let rise for another 30 minutes.
  8. Bake at 350°F for 25-30 minutes until golden brown.
  9. Mix powdered sugar, milk, and vanilla for icing, then drizzle over warm rolls.

Notes

  • For a richer flavor, add cream cheese to the icing.
  • These rolls can be made ahead of time and stored in the fridge overnight before baking.
