Cranberry Pretzel Salad

A delightful twist on the traditional salad, combining sweet and salty flavors in every bite.

Ingredients

  • 2 cups crushed pretzels
  • 1/2 cup granulated sugar
  • 3/4 cup unsalted butter, melted
  • 8 ounces cream cheese, softened
  • 1 cup powdered sugar
  • 1 tub (8 ounces) whipped topping
  • 1 can (12 ounces) cranberry sauce
  • 1 cup boiling water
  • 1 package (6 ounces) strawberry gelatin
  • 2 cups sliced fresh strawberries

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. In a mixing bowl, combine crushed pretzels, granulated sugar, and melted butter. Press into the bottom of a greased 9×13 inch pan.
  3. Bake for 10 minutes. Allow to cool completely.
  4. In another bowl, beat together cream cheese and powdered sugar until smooth. Fold in whipped topping.
  5. Spread cream cheese mixture over cooled pretzel crust.
  6. In a separate bowl, dissolve gelatin in boiling water, then stir in cranberry sauce until blended.
  7. Add sliced strawberries to the gelatin mixture, then pour over cream cheese layer.
  8. Refrigerate for at least 4 hours before serving.

Notes

  • Great for potlucks and holiday gatherings.
  • Substitute raspberries or blueberries for a different flavor.
