- 2 cups all-purpose flour
- 2 cups granulated sugar
- 3/4 cup unsweetened cocoa powder
- 1 1/2 tsp baking powder
- 1 1/2 tsp baking soda
- 1 tsp salt
- 2 large eggs
- 1 cup whole milk
- 1/2 cup vegetable oil
- 2 tsp vanilla extract
- 1 cup boiling water
- 1/2 cup orange juice
- 1 tbsp grated orange zest
- Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease and flour two 9-inch round cake pans.
- In a large bowl, mix together flour, sugar, cocoa powder, baking powder, baking soda, and salt.
- Add eggs, milk, oil, and vanilla. Beat on medium speed for 2 minutes.
- Stir in boiling water, orange juice, and zest.
- Pour batter evenly into prepared pans.
- Bake for 30-35 minutes or until a toothpick comes out clean.
- Let cool for 10 minutes, then remove from pans to cool completely.
- Prepare ganache by heating cream and pouring over chopped chocolate, waiting a few minutes, then stirring until smooth.
- Once cake layers are cooled, layer with ganache between them and on top.

- For a deeper orange flavor, consider adding orange extract to the batter.
